- This refers to wearing out of the cartilage inside the knee joint leading to pain and stiffness

- Effective treatment include a total knee replacement which involves removing the arthritic portion of the knee and replacing it with an internal knee prosthesis made up of metal and plastic
Partial or Uni-Compartmental Knee Replacement
- This is an excellent solution for a person older than 50 years of age who has arthritis involving only a portion of the knee joint
- This is commonly the medial (inner portion) compartment of the knee when walking
- This procedure provides excellent pain relief and good knee function as majority of the patient’s knee is preserved during the surgery.

- Hospitalisation of about 3 – 5 days
- Start to walk on 2nd day after operation
