• Usually seen in the elderly with Osteoporosis after a fall.
• Causes severe pain in the affected hip with inability to stand or walk.
• Surgical treatment is needed to prevent the patient from becoming bed-bound with risk of bed sores and chest infections.
• Patients can usually start to walk the next day after surgery.
