
Bony Impingement of the Ankle
- Seen commonly in soccer players
- Associated with recurrent ankle sprains
- Pain on bending ankle upwards
- Due to bony spurs in the front of the ends of the shin bone (arrow)

Treatment
- Can be done using keyhole surgery or by open surgery
- Allows removal of impinging bone spurs
- Leading to improvement in pain symptoms and increased range of ankle dorsiflexion
